The Man

Lt. Todd Wesley Krodle was living his lifelong dream of serving as a firefighter with the Dallas Fire Department.  Todd was an 18-year veteran of the Dallas Fire Department and served as the officer on Engine 26C in West Oak Cliff.  On August 14, 2011, he lost his life in a 2-alarm apartment fire in west Dallas.

The Foundation

In February 2014, Lt. Krodle's chief, his crew, family and close friends established The Lt. Todd Wesley Krodle Memorial Foundation to honor Lt. Krodle's legacy by giving back to the Dallas Fire Department community that he proudly served. Today the foundation is known simply as the Krodle Foundation.

The Legacy

Todd lived by the mantra, “I’m Third.”  His relationship with Christ was first in his life, and he exhibited that each day.  He always put others before himself and cared deeply about those around him – as is shown in the way that he gave his life – serving and protecting those he had never met
